JOSHUA 1:8
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
There was a story of a lecturer who always set his examinations questions on what the student asked during special preparatory lessons.
So, the student listens attentively and revised those questions. That is the difference between reading and studying. Joshua 1:8 clearly states that we should meditate on the word and that all we need to prosper is in the book of the law, your bible. Are you studying or just reading the bible like a story book? Jesus, in John 6:63 says It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. The word of God is our life.
According to Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. The word has no border and cannot be stopped to fulfil the purpose of God.
The word of God never changes as human change from season to season. The Lord said His word will never return to him void without accomplishing the set goal (Isaiah 55:10-11.) Has God spoken his word concerning you, be rest assured it will come to pass at the right time that God will be glorified. Some people said that God has not spoken to them. God speak to us constantly and consistently in his word the bible. When was the last time you sat down with the word of God in prayer and fasting?
The word of God is so powerful the enemies must scatter at the mention of the word of God. In Matthew 4:2-11 when the tempter came, the Lord Jesus use the word of God to send the devil packing. How often do you use the word of God against the devices of the enemy in your heart? The battle ground of believers is their heart, use the word to stop the enemy from polluting your mind with the word 2 Cor. 10:3-5.
Take the word of God serious and meditate on it.
