WORD FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY 2022

THEME: SACRIFICE OF PRAISE

TEXT: PSALM 50:10-14

Glory be to God who granted us the special grace to witness another year, may this year bring you double grace, blessings, mercy, favour and victory in the mighty name of Jesus.

PSALM 50:10-14

For every beast of the forest is Mine,
And the cattle on a thousand hills.

I know all the birds of the mountains,
And the wild beasts of the field are Mine

“If I were hungry, I would not tell you;
For the world is Mine, and all its fullness

Will I eat the flesh of bulls,
Or drink the blood of goats?

Offer to God thanksgiving,
And pay your vows to the Most High.

There was a story of a woman who lost her job, few weeks later her car was stolen and to make matter worse her flat was razed by fire. On the following Sunday in the church she was singing, praising and worshipping God. When she was asked why she’s so happy in view of all the tragedies, she simply replied I lost my job I did not lose my health, I lost a car I did not loose my life, my house was burnt I’m not in hell, I will praise the Lord.

You may have a more challenging issue, but you are alive and there’s hope for those who trust in the Lord will never be put to shame. How many millions have succumbed to Covid-19?

From our text God is more interested in you praising and worshipping him than your material offering. In John 4:24, God want those who will worship him in spirit and truth. Are you a true worshipper of God will God receive your sacrifice of praise?

Proverbs 15:8 says the sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord. Are you a child of God, have you received Jesus as your Lord and saviour? Accept Jesus into your life today and see the Lord start a new thing in your life. Happy new year and may the Lord be with you.
