THE GOOD NEWS.

ISAIAH 7:14 – Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. What will you consider as good news?Winning the lottery, buying the latest car in town, securing a high salaried job. These are good news but unfortunately they only last for a period of time.According to proverbs 23:4-5 wealth may not last ‘Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.’A new car today will be old model at most within 2 years and you will eventually leave the highly paid job, nothing last forever.Everything we see here are temporary, either they leave us or we leave them.
2 Corinthians 4:18While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. The only thing that will last and outlive our world is the kingdom of God, and that is the good news of the coming of our Lord Jesus that we are celebrating this month and every moment. This prophecy does not make sense then, because how can a virgin who knew no man will have a child.Even when the prophecy was fulfilled during the Jews oppression under the Romans the people did not believe.
1 Corinthians 1 :18 – For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.Jesus came that we may have life and restore us back to God to enjoy fellowship with God and live a life pleasing to him. This world as we see it will not last forever and we will all one day give an account of ourselves to God our maker. What will be your defence in rejecting the love of God through our Lord Jesus on the day of judgement? God paid a high price you and me can never repaid but only ask us to accept his only begotten and enjoy life everlasting with the Lord. Will you accept Jesus into your life today and enjoy communion with your maker?Tomorrow may be too late.As you celebrate Christmas, remember what Jesus did for you.God be with you.
