Sign of the End Times?

2 Samuel 24:11-16

We are in an unprecedented time in the history of the world.

In this passage, David decided to number the fighting men of Israel which is totally against the instructions of the Lord as in Exodus 30:12 which says 12When you take a census of the Israelites to count them, each one must pay the Lord a ransom for his life at the time he is counted. Then no plague will come on them when you number them.

This passage clearly speaks of God ownership of His people. So, when David counted the army, he was saying that the numbers of his soldiers can give him victory not the Lord.

What David did is what we are doing in our world today.

We believe in technology, wealth and our understanding – which God said is foolishness. We call good evil and evil good (Isaiah 5:20-25)

We rebel against His laws, those things that used to make us shudder in the past are now the norm.

Our women dress almost naked in the name of fashion, some in the western world are now even advocating for the right to walk naked in the name of Naturism. These rebellious ways have repercussions. The unfortunate thing is that even in the church, repentance is now hardly preached and instead we hear more of reaching for earthly wants.

The Lord told us to seek the kingdom of God and those things we are seeking will naturally run after us – Matthew 6:33

God in His mercy sent Gad to David to save Jerusalem. The mercy of God will save our nations.

One thing David did was to acknowledge his sin.

We need to seek God for His forgiveness.

In the text, God told the Angel of destruction to stop as he was about to enter Jerusalem. We need to ask for God’s mercy on our land, return to God and adopt a life of holiness.

There are many information that I have been reading recently that clearly showed that the end is slowly drawing near.

Revelation 22:11-14 says

11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

The Lord is coming soon, are you ready?
