Divine Turnaround

Genesis 32:22-31

22 And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two womenservants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok.

23 And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had.

24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.

25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.

26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.

27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.

28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.

30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.

31 And as he passed over Penuel the sun rose upon him, and he halted upon his thigh.

There have been times in our life when we’ve ran of all options and then God showed up. There have been on several occasions that it was only by the grace of God I was able to overcome situations.

Psalm 126:1-2 says “1 When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. 2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.”

I pray in the name of Jesus, the Lord will send you help from his sanctuary, he will support and shield you.

The Lord will destroy any form of captivity in your life in Jesus name.

In our text (Gen. 32:22-31) Jacob was going to face the greatest challenge of his life. He ran away from home having played the smart on his brother by trading food in exchange for his brother’s birth right. He also deceived his father with the help of his mother to receive his brother’s blessing. He now learnt that his brother is coming with 300 men, so he ran to God.

What could have been a disaster, God turned to blessing.

There is no situation my God cannot turn around.

Jeremiah 32:27 says “27 Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?”

I decree in the power of the blood of Jesus, the Lord the unchangeable changer will change your story for good.

Jabez in 1 Chronicles 4:9-10 was not satisfied and uncomfortable about his situation and cried to God who is able to bless, and no one can change.

The Lord answered him, and his story changed. What are your challenges and circumstances? Cast your burden on him, he cares for you.

If my wife calls my name in a crowd of thousands, I will recognise her voice. If you call on God today, does He know you?

Acts 4:12 says there is no other name that can save but the name of Jesus.

You cannot reject Jesus and expect the Lord to come to your help, because the Lord will never listen to the wicked.

Bible says in Psalm 7:11(b) that God is angry with the wicked on a daily basis.

Rejection of Jesus who suffered and died for your sin is wickedness.

Be on the Lord’s side and see him do great things in your life. The Lord says call unto me and I will answer you, His word is forever settled.

Jesus said I stand at the door and knock, if any man hears my voice and opens the door I will come in to him and will sup with him and he with me. Jesus is at the door of your heart. Open your heart to him today tomorrow maybe too late.

As this year is rolling away, it will not take you with it neither will it take your blessing.

You will not suffer loss of any kind. The new year will usher in all your heart desires.

You will serve the Lord far better in the new year.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
